Greenwich Borough AFC provides football, academy and pre-academy development services, creating sporting experiences for people of all ages and abilities. This privacy notice provides you with details of how Greenwich Borough AFC collects and processes your personal data.
Greenwich Borough AFC, referred to as “we”, “us” or “our” in this privacy notice, is the data controller and is responsible for your personal data. We aim to maintain the highest possible standards and seek to adopt best practice with regards to the way in which we manage and process data.

We are responsible as ‘controller’ of your personal information where you are the person named as the player/member or parent/guardian with whom we liaise in relation to our services with the player. This Notice also applies to referees, league officials and representatives of the league itself where we obtain your personal information directly, or via The Football Association (FA).

Information collected by us
Personal data means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. We may collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of personal data about you when acting as controller, which we have grouped together as follows:
- Identity Data includes first name and last name, title and date of birth, home address, passport or personal ID, school name, Gender/Sex, religious information and ethnicity.
- Health Data includes any medical conditions to ensure the coaches and staff are aware for your safety.
- FA Data to ensure that you have international clearance to play football in the UK, and are registered with The League.
- Contact Data includes email address, postal address and telephone number
- Technical Data includes internet protocol (IP) address, your login data, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform and other technology on the devices you use to access our website
- Usage Data includes information about how you use our website products and services and cookie data which is collected by our website
- Marketing and Communications Data includes your preferences in receiving marketing from us and our third parties and your communication

Where we need to collect personal data by law, or under the terms of a contract we have with you, and you fail to provide that data when requested, we may not be able to onboard you as a player.
How long your personal data will be kept
We will not hold your personal information for longer than is reasonably necessary in providing the service or as is required by law.
Upon expiry, any personal data which we are not legally obliged to retain will be securely destroyed.
We keep player and applicable parent/guardian information for the length of time that you remain a player of Greenwich Borough AFC, ask us to hold it to contact you in future, or up to one year after your lessons conclude with Greenwich Borough AFC.
We keep photographs and videos for up to three years after they are taken.
Marketing
We would like to send you information about products and services which may be of interest to you as a player or parent/guardian.
If you consent to receiving such information, you can opt out at any time in the future. When you fill in a form or provide your details on our website, you will see one or more tick boxes allowing you to opt in to receive marketing communications from us by email, telephone, and text message.
