Greenwich Borough is excited to announce the appointment of Reece Parara as Head Coach, with Simon Beard alongside as Assistant Head Coach, as we prepare for the challenges of the 2025/26 season and beyond.
Reece and Simon bring a wealth of experience, fresh ideas, and an uncompromising commitment to our club’s values on and off the pitch. Since agreeing to lead The Boro into their first non-league season earlier this year, Reece has shown great leadership in building a competitive squad, driving a clear playing identity, and helping to foster a culture that reflects the ambition of our club and our supporters.
Simon’s appointment strengthens our coaching team with his deep knowledge of the game, proven ability to develop players, and shared vision for Greenwich Borough’s future.
Both Reece and Simon are committed to the club’s ambition of creating a pathway for our Academy players and providing our home-grown players with first-team opportunities.
Speaking on his appointment, Reece Parara said:
“I’m honoured to be appointed Head Coach. As someone who grew up in Greenwich, leading AFC Greenwich Borough is something I take great pride in.
Having been heavily involved in developing the club’s young players, I’m excited about the opportunity to blend some top senior players with the outstanding young talent we have coming through. It’s a project that truly means a lot to me.
A big thank you to Garry and Brett for trusting me with this role, and I look forward to working closely with them to drive the club forward.”
Director of Football, Garry Fiore said:
“We are delighted to appoint Reece and Simon to the management team at Greenwich Borough. Both come with a wealth of experience at all levels of football and are well-equipped to take this team into this season and beyond. As a football club, we will provide them with all the support necessary to ensure a successful future.”
We’re proud to have Reece and Simon leading Greenwich Borough’s Men’s First Team as we enter our first season in non-league at SCEFL Division One.
