A new badge on the shirt, the same belief in our academy players.
Greenwich Borough AFC today unveils its newly named Youth Academy, completing the transition from the former partnership and beginning a fresh era that offers our young footballers a direct pathway to senior football inside one club family.
Speaking at the GB10 Sports hub this morning, Co‑Owner and Director of Football, Garry Fiore, called the launch “the natural next step for an academy that’s already proved itself at regional and national level,” adding that “the badge may be different, but every coach, every standard and every ounce of ambition is the same. Only now we can promise an authentic route to the first team.”
“Same people, bigger future. That’s the simplest way to describe today.” – Brett Smith, Co-Owner and Director of Operations
Why make the change?
Continuity with improvement
All current coaching staff, age‑group structures and training philosophies stay in place, preserving the culture that produced recent titles, cup success, and scholarship offers.
Purpose‑built facilities
Every Greenwich Borough Academy squad will train and play on pristine natural‑grass pitches at GB10, with two flood‑lit 3G/4G surfaces planned for the near-future. Scholars have access to dedicated classrooms and a strength‑training gym, and the site now features a new community bar and social hub, with additional football‑focused amenities rolling out over the coming months.
One‑club identity
Representing the senior Greenwich Borough badge unifies vets, men, women, disability and youth sections for the first time, strengthening the sense of community that our parents consistently cite as the Academy’s greatest asset.
